Brazilian wonderkid Gabriel Barbosa Almeida has been strongly linked with a move to Spanish giants Barcelona, according to the Daily Mail.
The young striker has been dubbed the 'new Neymar' in his home country. The youngster made his professional debut as a 16-year-old, and quickly adapted to the step up earning the nickname 'Gabigol' due to his goalscoring ability.
The move to Barca?
The 18-year-old looks likely to join the La Liga giants, who have preferential
rights to buy the forward, which they agreed as part of their deal for former Santos
Gabriel previously announced: "Someday I hope to become a Barca player. I've dreamed of this since I was little, from the moment I started playing football."
In 14 games this year Gabriel remains Santos's top goalscorer with five and three assists. The youngster's professional contract with Santos expires in 2015, at which time many clubs are expected to make an attempt to sign the youngster.
