Football News

Who knows what Paul George was thinking when he tweeted some comments relating to the Ray Rice saga on Thursday morning. Maybe he wanted to be in the headlines again after his horrific leg break earlier this summer made him worldwide news.

It is much more likely it was a misguided moment of madness from Paul George, and the Indiana Pacers star man will be apologizing for quite a few days for his digressions. So what did he do?

Defending Rice

Well, for one thing he defended Ray Rice and said he should be allowed to play again. Pretty crazy comments when we are talking about a former Baltimore Ravens running-back who is currently under intense scrutiny after a video of his domestic abuse against his partner was revealed for all to see.

Somehow Rice was given a suspended prison sentence and forced to seek counselling for the incident we've only just seen in all its glory.

But it seems that Paul George is all about defending his "homie" right now, with his tweets on Thursday morning defending Rice.

Trivialising domestic violence

And not only did he take to defending the former star running-back, he went overboard with his trivialisation of domestic violence. By now we know that Rice's now wife and then fiance is still with Rice and trying to get over the controversy with Rice by her side, with George saying that because "she ain't tripping, then I ain't trippin."

The majority of these tweets below have now been deleted and George has rightly apologized for his comments. He started his rant by claiming people should be more worried about the Mike Brown shooting controversy in Ferguson, Missouri.

Check out the tweets from Paul George relating to Ray Rice in chronological order below.
