Arsenal and Manchester City played out an incredibly exciting 2-2 draw in the Premier League at Emirates Stadium early Saturday afternoon, in what could possibly be the most entertaining match of the season so far.
Sergio Aguero opened the scoring just before the half hour mark with the Premier League champions' first shot on target after Jesus Navas had pounced on a loose ball in the Arsenal half and accelerated away.
Arsene Wenger's team then struggled to get a grip on the game and it looked as though they could already be beaten at half time. However, the tide turned in the 63rd minute when Jack Wilshere put a poor first half behind him and scored a delightful equaliser.
The England midfielder broke into the box on the end of some sharp passing and finished with a deft flick over Joe Hart to level - Danny Welbeck made his debut and should have put the Gunners 1-0 up in the first half with a similar finish, but his dinked effort came back off the post.
Got even better
Home fans were delirious about ten minutes later when Alexis Sanchez put Arsenal ahead with a sensational volley, guiding it ball into the top corner after Wilshere had headed a City clearance back into the box.
However, the lead lasted barely ten minutes before the visitors were level again; Martin Demichelis was on the end of a Aleksandar Kolarov corner and Wojciech Szczesny could only parry the Argentine's header onto the post and in.
Manuel Pellgrini will be bemoan his side's failure to find a winner in the last few minutes, as Edin Dzeko had a glorious chance saved by Szczesny and Kolarov hit the post.
Either way, it was a terrific match and we have picked out the six star players from the match - three from each team - for you to agree or disagree.
