Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is confident that Cristiano Ronaldo will want to join the Red Devils next summer because of Angel di Maria, reports the Express

Ronaldo, of course, starred alongside the Argentine winger at the Bernabeu, and it now appears that the Red Devils are determined to bring the Portuguese superstar back to Old Trafford in 2015.

Ronaldo frustrated

It appears, then, that Ronaldo is ready to jump ship in Madrid, with the same report suggesting that he was extremely frustrated by Di Maria's £59.7 million departure. As well as Di Maria, Real also let Spanish ace Xabi Alonso leave for Bayern Munich, and the club have made a slow start to this season.

Their latest setback came at the hands of Spanish champions Atletico, as Ronaldo and Co. were beaten at the Bernabeu this past weekend, and now it appears that he could leave Spain in the near future.

With Di Maria at the Theatre of Dreams, it appears that Manchester United are in the driving seat to bring Ronaldo back to the Premier League, despite interest from the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City.

All three clubs have been credited with a £60m move for the World Player of the Year, but it now seems that he could snub Chelsea and City in favour of a move back to United.

Manchester United fans, then, will certainly be excited by the prospect of Ronaldo returning to the club next summer, but it remains to be seen as to whether the club's hierarchy can complete the mega deal that would once again break the club's transfer record.

Fine victory

The Red Devils finally secured their first competitive win of the Van Gaal era against QPR yesterday afternoon, as they strolled to a 4-0 victory against the Hoops. Ronaldo's former teammate Angel di Maria scored the opener, with Ander Herrera, Wayne Rooney and Juan Mata also finding the net.

United now have a week to prepare for their next fixture, as Van Gaal's side travel to the King Power Stadium to take on Leicester City and will be looking to make it back-to-back victories this coming Sunday.
