It’s almost that time in the year where WWE fans are excited by the upcoming video game, but fans with the next-generation consoles will be forced to wait a little longer.

The game was scheduled to be released on all formats in late October, but the next-generation release has been pushed back to November 18 in the USA whilst internationally it will be released on November 21.

2K and Yukes issued a statement surrounding the delay; revealing that they will be tweaking the gameplay so it meets their expectations; especially since it is their first WWE video game on the next generation consoles.

Leaks have already started surrounding the remainder of the roster, whilst specific names haven’t been given yet; an NXT roster has been rumoured for a while and based on recent achievement leaks on Exophase.com; it looks as if certain NXT superstars will be involved.

We already know that NXT will be included in the game as a brand in the career mode where the player will start his journey to the main roster by competing in NXT.

NXT roster

So far, specific names haven’t been revealed yet but it is widely expected that 2K will announce the NXT superstars as part of a group of unannounced superstars or they could still introduce NXT superstars as part of a later DLC pack for players to use in different game modes.

You can click here to view the first set of achievements and here for the second set; the achievements to look out for are the ‘NXT Takeover’ achievement – where you must defeat John Cena with an NXT superstar; they key thing here is that in the images the thumbnail is of current NXT Champion Adrian Neville.

Another achievement to look out for is the ‘Next Generation’ achievement where the user must complete all objectives in NXT; this time the image is of Sami Zayn.

If these leaks and images are anything to go by then Sami Zayn and Adrian Neville will definitely grab a spot in the video game which will be welcomed by all NXT fans.

These image leaks are not confirmed right now but it is a safe bet to assume that these are the achievements 2K will be sticking with once the game is officially released.

CM Punk's name and likeness

The delay however won’t be welcomed by the fans who are desperate for a next generation WWE video game, whilst some might consider 2K are tweaking with the gameplay, many are suggesting this all comes back to CM Punk.

In a 22-page letter to the WWE, Punk’s attorney’s discussed his name and likeness in the video game and royalties were also discussed. Punk is set to play an integral role in the ‘Showcase Mode’ and it is definitely too late to take CM Punk out of the game.

The WWE have pulled all of his merchandise so they don’t have to pay him any more royalties whilst the company might still have to CM Punk whatever he wants as royalties for his name and likeness in the video game.

WWE fans will be hoping this isn’t the issue and the game will now be released as scheduled in November.
