Jordan Archer enjoys second league start for Northampton

Jordan Archer enjoyed his first win in Northampton colours as the Cobblers overcame Hartlepool United 5-1.

The Scotland U21 stopper made his first league appearance in the 3-2 defeat to Newport County at the weekend, and conceded in the first minute on Tuesday. However, from then on it was all plain sailing for Town and Archer as they cruised to victory.

Striker Shaq Coulthirst was rewarded for his fine goal off the bench with a start for Southend against Cheltenham. The 20-year-old played 76 minutes and did well despite a lack of service as Southend won 1-0.

It was not such good news for Alex Pritchard who, despite playing the whole game, could not prevent Brentford succumbing to a three-nil loss to early Championship pace setters Norwich.

In League One, Kenneth McEvoy once again remained on the bench as Peterborough United lsot 2-1 at Gillingham.
