Premier League Preview: Manchester City v Chelsea

Published Add your comment

Chelsea made the first mistake of their season during the week when they let a 1-0 lead in their Champions League match against Schalke slip away, with Mourinho having to settle for a 1-1 draw. Manchester City were a little more unlucky than their Premier League title rivals, losing 1-0 to Bayern Munich through a late winner from ex-Etihad star Jerome Boateng. With this weekend’s away trip to City in mind Jose Mourinho decided not to start in-form striker Diego Costa during the week and the ageing legs of Didier Drogba showed that he may just have lost his edge when coming up against the best defenders in football. We can expect the Special One to take no such chances against City however, with Loic Remy likely to play understudy to Costa in one of the biggest fixtures of the campaign so far.
