This past Monday night on RAW, there was a fairly epic six-man tag-team match announced for later in the week on Friday night Smackdown.
That match however, never took place tonight with Usos being removed from the match and replaced by Los Matadores.
On RAW, it was announced that the Big Show would be teaming with the Usos to take on the entire Wyatt family.
It should have been a fantastic match, but it didn't work out that way because for some reason the Usos were removed.
They did however make an appearance at the show as Jimmy took on Stardust in a singles match that was quite physical.
It was an impressive performance in the match by both men with Uso eventually getting the win and both Gold and Stardust being laid out after the match.
So the question now arises, why were the Usos taken out of a tag team match to be placed in singles competition?
I guess it is possible that the pair were removed from the big tag match and placed in the new match to help build hype for their match on Sunday.
This has already been a long standing rivalry and there is more than enough already to hype up the title match on Sunday, but yes, I can see that being logical.
Or is it because, Jay's knee is still fragile and they didn't want him risking injury two days prior to Night of Champions?
That would make sense too since Jay emerged at Smackdown with his knee still heavily taped up.
But if Jay's knee is still fragile, when could he be back and will the WWE want to keep champions where one is injured?
Time for a change
The Usos have been long term champions having held the title for several months now, but is it time the WWE changed that?
In my opinion, yes, the tag team division has gone stale and something certainly needs to change in it, but what?
Well the last big change in the division came the night Cody Rhodes became Stardust, the WWE Universe loved it and has continued to love the unique duo ever since.
The two brothers winning the tag titles would be a great moment and something that would keep the WWE Universe talking.
Perhaps the best thing to come out of the match at Night of Champions is a new set of champions, just to bring something new to the tag team division.
