There have certainly been no shortage of talking points so far this weekend, with former Manchester United favourite Danny Welbeck notching his first goal for Arsenal in a convincing 3-0 win over high-flying Aston Villa and Real Madrid utilising the full extent of their formidable attacking prowess to hit eight past newly-promoted Deportivo La Coruna. 

We kick things off with one of the sport's true greats and a man who was pivotal to Real's demolition of such inferior opponents at the Estadio Riazor.....

Manchester United/Real Madrid

Manchester United's move for Cristiano Ronaldo looks to be in doubt, with reports revealing that the Portuguese superstar snubbed the opportunity to make a triumphant return to Old Trafford last summer before signing a new five-year deal with the La Liga giants.

Ronaldo - who enjoyed a hugely successful six-year stint in the Premier League under the guidance of mentor Sir Alex Ferguson between 2003-09 - is said to be fed up after a controversial transfer window in Madrid but it seems that Manchester United will not go all out to bring the 29-year-old back to the club with £120 million supposedly deemed as too high a price to pay.
