Chelsea full-back Filipe Luis has given an intriguing snapshot into the character of talismanic striker and long-time teammate Diego Costa.

£32m man Costa has enjoyed an incredible start to life in the Premier League, taking just four games to notch seven top-flight goals.

As well as his obvious goalscoring prowess that fired Atletico Madrid to La Liga glory last season, many pundits have commented on Costa's fiery nature - something that Luis knows only too well.

"He always wants to win and if he doesn't he gets crazy, he gets mad," the Brazilian said.

Luis - who followed Costa to Stamford Bridge from Los Rojiblancos this summer - makes a clear connection between the striker's drive to succeed and that of manager Jose Mourinho.

"He's that sort of person. Jose Mourinho is also likes this. People with ambition, they always want to win and if you don't, it gets you mad. They try to get better and these sort of people really have to succeed in life."
