19-year-old Paddy McNair. He’s not a footballer you’re likely to have heard much about, nor he is a proven talent in the Premier League but that doesn’t look set to stop Louis van Gaal from calling him up to his senior squad for this weekend’s fixture against West Ham, as the Dutchman seeks to get around the current injury crisis plaguing his side. According to the Guardian McNair, who has never featured for the Red Devils first-team, is set to be drafted in following the news that Jonny Evans, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones are all doubts for the match. With Tyler Blackett suspended for the game Van Gaal has been left short at the back and even if he decides upon a 3-5-2 formation, he will struggle to field a back-line possessive of experienced heads.
