It was not an easy night for Washington Redskins fans as they had to witness their team get picked apart by the opposing New York Giants in a 45-14 blowout, dropping Washington to last place in the NFC East with a 1-3 record, while the New York Giants improve to a 2-2 record after a rocky start to the season.
Uneasy start
The Washington Redskins had a very uneasy start to the first quarter of the game as Kirk Cousins was sacked and fumbled the ball, giving the Giants possession. Following that play the Giants opened the scoring in the first quarter with a touchdown pass thrown to Tight End Larry Donell from Eli Manning to take the lead 7-0.
At the beginning of the second quarter Eli Manning linked up with Larry Donnell again for another touchdown putting New York up 14-0. The Redskins came back for a touchdown with Kirk Cousins finding Andre Roberts but the half ended 24-7 after yet another touchdown for Donell and a field goal score for the Giants.
Second Half
The third quarter opened up with a beautiful run by Alfred Morris of the Redskins, running 20 yards for a touchdown to give the home fans hope of a dramatic comeback.
That was as good as it got however with the Redskins playing nothing short of horrendous football for the remainder of the game.
Quarterback Kirk Cousins would throw four interceptions in the second half, most likely marking his worst NFL performance ever and making a case that he is meant to fulfil the back up role for the injured Robert Griffin III after all.
Star wide receiver for the Redskins, DeSean Jackson only caught one ball for 9 yards all game and considering his performance with the Eagles last week one would think he should be more involved in the offense.

Game takeaways
Niles Paul, Tight End for the Redskins, was injured in the first half after a hard tackle and left the game to add injury to insult for the franchise.
The game ended 45-14 for the Giants. Eli Manning, Victor Cruz and Larry Donnell all played great and made New York Giants fans proud. The same can't be said for Kirk Cousins, after his performance, the city of Washington must be praying for a speedy recovery of RG3.
