Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is convinced that he can improve Alexis Sanchez, reports

It's been suggested that the Gunners star has been dropped from the club's last couple of fixtures in the Premier League because he's been slowing down the passing play of the side.

Training ground

It appears, however, that Wenger is determined to improve the Chilean star, and believes training ground discussions will help the player become a key man for the side. The same report has suggested that the Arsenal chief wants to improve the winger when he has his back to goal and is faced with pressure from opponents.

Sanchez, despite impressing the Arsenal faithful since his summer arrival from Barcelona, has had to settle for a place on the bench in the club's last two league fixtures against Aston Villa and north London rivals Tottenham.

The winger did, however, make an appearance from the bench against Spurs, but will be determined to hold down a regular starting spot.

And, if he is going to become a regular at the Emirates, then he will have to overcome the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mesut Ozil, Santi Cazorla and Co. Theo Walcott will also battle the Chilean for a place in the starting XI upon his return from a long injury lay-off.

However, with a number of fixtures on the horizon for Wenger's side, all of the attacking stars at the Emirates will play some part as the club go in search of silverware this term.

Next future

Arsenal's immediate focus, however, will be on this week's Champions League clash with Turkish outfit Galatasaray as the Gunners look to get some points on the board in Group D after losing 2-0 to German outfit Borussia Dortmund in their opening fixture.

It doesn't get any easier for Wenger's side this weekend either as they travel to Stamford Bridge to take on league leaders Chelsea. The Gunners are already six points behind Mourinho's side at the top of the table, so will be desperate to secure a positive result on Sunday. Sanchez, then will be hoping to feature against Galatasaray and Chelsea over the course of the week.
