Having spent two months in football's naughty corner, Luis Suarez reappeared in a friendly match for Barcelona B.

His four month FIFA ban prevented him from taking part in all football activities. Barcelona managed to get this ban limited to competitive games but it looks as though Suarez's absence had already taken its toll.

We all know the Suarez loves to bite people, but it appears he also has an affinity towards chomping on actual food. The Uruguayan scored twice in the game, but his apparent chunkiness caught the media's eye.

The Spanish press labelled Suarez "overweight" and suggested that he looked more like a retired footballer than a £70 million striker.

But Barcelona fans should not worry too much. Much, much fatter athletes have managed to enjoy successful careers despite their love for eating.

Here we pay homage to some of world sport's most beloved fat sport stars.
