WWE legend Christian hasn't been seen in a WWE ring for some time, apart from his small appearance on the Night of Champions kick off show with Chris Jericho where they constructed a brief peep show for the fans.
Before that Christian hadn't competed since March after he suffered a mild concussion, meaning he couldn't play a part in Wrestlemania. But it seems the former champion has been cleared to wrestle for quite a while but WWE are holding him back because they feel he could be too "fragile."
"For Christian, there's people who think that he's too fragile now, because of his age and because he keeps getting hurt," Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio.
"I think the mentality is that his wrestling days are over, and they probably want to keep him somewhere, but they haven't offered him a spot as an agent or as a trainer. I don't know if they will, but they (just) haven't cut him yet. He could go tomorrow, but they don't seem to want (to) have him go."
Christian's long awaited return
There has been rumours surrounding his return for a while, with some thinking he could come back and play a key part in either Hell in a Cell or Survivor Series. But knowing that Vince McMahon isn't his biggest fan, this could also be one of the other main reasons Christian is still yet to return.
He could also have been labelled as injury prone, much like Dolph Ziggler was after he was forced to drop his World Title when he suffered a concussion back in 2012 and has only just been allowed back near the title scene.
Christian hasn't been a part of WWE's main programming for a while and was pushed down to the mid-card of the company a while back, ever since then he has been fighting it out for "one more match" for a title, in the hope that he can achieve the unthinkable and win another title in his already decorated career.
Of course Christian was set for an Intercontinental Championship on Main Event just days after he suffered a concussion and the title match was subsequently removed from WWE's listings, whether Christian will ever get his chance at a title again, still remains to be seen as his slogan "one more match" could reign true if he makes a return at the 2015 Royal Rumble, who knows how far he could go.
