The WWE could be set to finally welcome a huge new start into its midst with hugely popular wrestler Sting hinting at a major event involving himself and the organization coming up in the near future.

Sting posted an image on his official Twitter account highlighting an upcoming event known as "The Big Event" but it was the text accompanying the promotional post that has left WWE fans guessing.

"Bigger news on the horizon," was the simple message from the wrestler but after months of speculation linking him to a WWE debut it was enough to get rumors swirling.

Sting appearance

WWE fans have known since 2013 that Sting has been in communication with Vince McMahon and co about making the jump to the organization.

Whilst he has since signed a promotional deal with WWE and will be appearing on the upcoming WWE 2k15 video game there has been no official word on when fans can expect to see the veteran in a WWE ring for the first time.

Sting may well simply be using his knowledge of this to promote his own upcoming event, but that seems unlikely.

His message instead seems to hint that there could be a definitive message coming in the near future.

With rumors of an appearance set for January 2015, perhaps at Royal Rumble in readiness for a WrestleMania 31 match up, an announcement of some sort regarding an official contract would surely be expected in the near future.

Regardless of when it comes, one thing is for certain Vince McMahon could use the positive PR off a Sting contract to satisfy a growing group of disgruntled WWE fans.
