Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher believes Manchester City star David Silva is a cut above the likes of Manchester United's Juan Mata and Arsenal's Santi Cazorla.

The trio of Spain internationals are among the most gifted playmakers in the Premier League, but Carragher thinks Silva is 'two or three levels' above his international teammates. Manchester United signed Mata from Chelsea for £37m last January.

Silva against Aston Vila

Silva was exceptional for City as they ran out 2-0 victors against Aston Villa at Villa Park on Saturday evening. During the commentary on the game, Gary Neville was full of praise for the Spaniard, and his Sky Sports colleague Carragher has now followed suit.

"One player you would love to watch, no matter who you support - it would be him [Silva]" Carragher said as reported by the Manchester Evening News.

"A couple of other Spaniards like him - Cazorla and Mata - he's two or three levels above them. You never see him get tackled, you can't get near him.

"His awareness is the best in world football, Iniesta and Xavi are the nearest level to him. He's something special."

Mata against Everton

Mata was in good form too as the Manchester United star replaced Wayne Rooney in the lineup as United beat Everton 2-1 at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao, two late summer captures for Louis van Gaal, were the two goalscorers - the Colombian international proving to be the match winner.

With Rooney out, Mata was playing in the hole behind United duo Robin van Persie and Falcao, and the former-Monaco star in particular looked sharp in front of goal. At full fitness, he will be a real handful for Premier League defences.

As for Cazorla, the Arsenal man was replaced during the Gunners' 2-0 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
