Rex Ryan may poison Peyton Manning's food in attempt to stop him

New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan can be rather ingenious with his defensive schemes but he may employ an even more devious plan to stop Peyton Manning when the Denver Broncos visit MetLife stadium this Sunday.

How do you stop Manning?

Manning is currently in his 18th season in the NFL and has seen many defensive game plans to stop him in his time, oppositions haven't had much success against the quarterback and last season can be taken as a small sample of how difficult it is, Manning threw for 5,477 yards and 55 touchdowns (Both NFL records).

Rex Ryan is a specialist in coaching defence in football but his lowly Jets have slumped to four defeats in the row with his position as the head coach now being questioned.

New York currently can't put up any points on offence and their defence just allowed 31 points to the San Diego Chargers, the last thing they want to see is Peyton Manning strolling in to town.

Manning is currently showing no signs of slowing down and once again has got off to a remarkable start in his first four games, he has 1,293 yards and12 touchdowns.

He also boasts a receiving corp of Demaryius Thomas, Wes Welker, Emmanuel Sanders and tight end Julius Thomas, just frightening for the Jets.

Devious plan

Ryan has now been asked how he plans to stop the upcoming Broncos and Peyton in particular, he responded in rather humorous fashion.

He explained: "I'm not going to say we're going to poison his food or something... but that has crossed my mind."

I guess that's one way of halting the juggernaut that is the Broncos offence but not exactly legal.

The Denver Broncos are 3-1 and have been tipped by most to return to the Super Bowl after their humiliating defeat to the Seattle Seahawks in the penultimate game of last year, they have revenge on their minds.

Las Vegas betting actually tipped the Broncos as the team most likely to win the Super Bowl and in the rematch with the Seahawks this season, they were undone after it took one possession of Overtime for Seattle to pull out the victory.

The Broncos will be as focused as ever when they venture to New York this weekend and Rex Ryan must come up with an incredible defensive scheme to stop Manning or a fifth defeat in the row could really heap the pressure on his job status with the Jets.
