Floyd Mayweather Jr had responded to recent rumors linking Prince Jackson, the son of legendary singer Michael Jackson, to The Money Team - and the boxing superstar wasn't exactly looking to dispel the suggestion either.

Indeed when TMZ caught up with the US fighter this week to quiz him on the shock revelation Mayweather revealed he had plans for Jackson.

"Prince Jackson you know he likes contact sports...

"I haven't worked with him yet but I look forward to working with him when I get back to Las Vegas... I look forward to going up to LA and working with him," explained Mayweather.

Jackson and TMT

The idea of the son of Michael Jackson being taken under the wing of one of the greatest fighters of his generation in Floyd Mayweather may seem the stuff of bizarre fantasy but the link up seems legitimate.

The speculation first began this week when Prince (17) was spotted driving a new SUV truck complete with numerous TMT stickers - usually only the reserve of those within The Money Team.

And Floyd Mayweather himself took to Twitter this week to confirm the son of MJ as the latest name to find a place in TMT.

Other esteemed members of Mayweather's entourage include controversial singer Justin Bieber and multi-millionaire Warren Buffett.

Reports however suggest that, unlike the two celebrities above who socialise with the boxer outside of the ring, Michael Jackson's son may actually have a future in a fighting capacity.

The Insider Business Times for instance notes that Prince is currently training in jiu-jitsu over in Beverley Hills and Mayweather's comments above seem to confirm that the young heir to the Jackson estate is a keen fight enthusiast.

Big Spenders

Floyd Mayweather might like to show off his wealth to the world, this week posting photos of two huge winning NFL bets, but even the highest earning athlete in the world cannot hold a candle to the funds at the fingertips of Prince Jackson.

With his father one of the most successful pop stars in the history of music Prince will certainly fit in well with the extravagent lifestyle favored by Mayweather.

As for whether he will ever find himself in a ring like his new friend? That seems far less likely.
