Manchester United hero Rio Ferdinand has revealed the true feelings Robin van Persie has about Arsenal's mentality, reports the Daily Star.
Van Persie, of course, moved from the Emirates to Old Trafford in the summer of 2012, and won the Premier League title in his first season at the club under Sir Alex Ferguson.
Difference between United and Arsenal
And, it appears that Van Persie loved the mentality installed at Old Trafford under the club's legendary manager. In-fact, the Dutchman told Ferdinand that there's a clear difference between United and Arsenal.
This has been revealed by Ferdinand, who wrote in his autobiography: "Robin van Persie loved the winning mind state that Fergie had created.
"He told me that at Arsenal you wanted to win, but at United you had to win."
Since the Ferguson era, however, things haven't been so great at Old Trafford, with the club having ended in seventh place under David Moyes in the 2013/14 season. And this season - under Louis van Gaal - the Red Devils are already some way off the pace at the top of the table after an inconsistent start to the season.
Arsenal, meanwhile, despite not making great progress in terms of challenging for the Premier League title, are still plying their trade in the Champions League, and secured FA Cup success last season.
Van Persie, then, will be hoping to find that winning feeling once again at Manchester United under the new regime. Despite having struggled in the early parts of the season, the Dutchman will be hoping to find his best form under a manager of Van Gaal's demeanour.
With the likes of Angel di Maria, Juan Mata, Wayne Rooney and Co. providing him, he shouldn't have much of a problem rediscovering his best form, but he will be hoping to stay fit throughout the entire season.
Van Persie and his Manchester United teammates will have to wait until October 20 for their next fixture when the Red Devils travel to the Hawthorns to take on West Brom.
