Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle was arrested on Monday evening after being caught shoplifting underwear and cologne from a department store.

According to reports from Naheed Rajani of the Dallas Morning News, Randle was in an upmarket, suburban department store in the Dallas area called Dillard's when he caught by security cameras.

The Underwear Thief

More from Rajani's report this morning:

"Police were called to the Dillard’s at 8:17 p.m. Monday, said Frisco police spokesman Chad LaPrelle. The store’s loss prevention employees had detained Randle, who was later charged with theft, a Class B misdemeanour.

LaPrelle said he didn’t know what item was allegedly stolen, but it ranged from $50 to $500. Randle was released from Frisco City Jail early Tuesday after posting bail."

Gucci Guilty

This kind of story is completely in TMZ's comfort zone more than anyone else's and they have come up good once again in the arrest front. According to them - and you really couldn't make this up - the cologne Randle stole was Gucci Guilty Black, which some quick research tells us retails from $75 to $98 dollars a bottle at Dillard's.

And then there is the underwear, which their investigative reporting says was a two-pack of black Polo boxers, which check out at around $35 dollars.

No Need

What makes this whole debacle so confusing is the fact that Randle is earning a base salary of $495,000 dollars this season. Unless this is all some big mixup and Randle just forgot to pay for the items, it's incredibly bemusing and ultimately a very stupid decision.

Randle is currently the Cowboys third string running back, but played a vital role in the team's shock win against the Seattle Seahawks in CenturyLink Field. He rushed for a season-high 52 yards on five carries as the Cowboys triumphed 30-23.

Randle was a fifth round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft out of Oklahoma State and see's himself behind an unstoppable DeMarco Murray and Lance Dunbar in the pecking order.
