It was recently reported that Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Kevin Durant has sustained a fractured foot and would miss large amount of the start of the new NBA season.
With the news of the injury, Durant's biggest rival and good friend LeBron James sent his fellow basketball star some inspirational words with the intended kind-hearted message to get well soon.
LeBron James told reporter Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com that he had reached out to Durant after his foot fracture and text him saying: "The game's not the same without him out there"
Future action for Durant
As for Durant's injury, the Oklahoma City Thunder have admitted to be unsure of how to approach the foot fracture for their superstar, the future course of action has yet to be decided.
USA Today reported: "Durant is still considering treatment options for the Jones fracture in his right foot and a decision about whether or not to have surgery won't likely be made on Monday, according to two people with knowledge of the situation,"
Thunder fans remain worried about the health of the reigning MVP of the NBA and what will happen in the near future for their franchise without their best player.
With all the news surrounding the injury to Durant, Russell Westbrook's name has been thrust into the spotlight over whether he can carry the responsibility of leading the Thunder with the absence of Durant.
Many already believe that Westbrook doesn't quite stick to his role as the number two option for Oklahoma City but with the injury Durant, it seems that fans everywhere will be able to see just what the electrifying point guard can do when he is the captain of the ship.
Although Westbrook seems defiant against the responsibility he has just garnered, he has explained that he can't win games on his own and the injury to his teammate has just signified the need for solidarity in the Thunder locker room.
