It has been reported that Rafael Benitez is looking at bringing in Liverpool full-back Glen Johnson and Manchester City wide-man James Milner according to reports.

Napoli sit sixth in Serie A after playing six games. It is only early in the season but the Blues have conceded seven goals, this is underwhelming if they want to be challenging for European places and the Scudetto itself.

Glen Johnson has been in many Liverpool fans eyes the most out of form player for the last couple of seasons, due to injury problems and younger players such as Jon Flanagan performing well and giving him competition for a starting role. Also with new signing Javi Manquillo, it may be likely that he will be on his way fairly soon.

Johnson is known for his attacking play; he enjoys running to the by-line and either delivering a cross into the box or making a charge for himself. This mentality at times has led to him being out of position defensively causing gaps in the Liverpool defence. However in Italy it is more common to play with wing-backs, and he may flourish being positioned further up the pitch with less defensive responsibilities.

What will James Milner Offer?

James Milner provides energy to a team, he will run for 90 minutes and cover every blade of grass. He may not be the most technically gifted footballer of all time, but his work-rate makes him stand out from others. Napoli could do with this type of utility man, as this season they have been caught out on the counter on a few occasions, Milner could play in his preferred Central position and provide cover for the more attacking players in the team.

Overall both players will make a large addition to the Naples based side, I believe Johnson is more likely to leave than Milner, as Milner is still seen as a valuable asset for Manchester City, even if it is from the bench.
