England footballing legend and Heartthrob David Beckham has appeared in a new TV advert promoting Whiskey brand Haig Club.

The advert features Beckham, along with a group of five other dapper ladies and gentlemen, toasting a glass of Haig Club Whiskey as they celebrate on a Highland Estate.

The Commercial, directed by Sherlock Holmes director Guy Ritchie, features the song 'Left Hand Free" by Leeds based band Alt-J, and shows the group of friends all making their way to the Scottish Highlands via different means of transport.

Arriving in style

Beckham appears on a motorcycle, while his friends make the journey by either boat, car, or seaplane.

Beckham has come under some criticism for the add having been well known to have been T-total for the majority of his career.

The father of four, however, is not seen to drink any Whisky in the advert, but instead merely toasts the drink, having set a timer on his camera to capture the raised glasses and his superb green velvet jacket.

“I love the tradition of toasting, it’s something I always do with friends and family,” he says in the accompanying PR guff.

The further press home the message and keep the Beckham brand in tact, the Manchester United legend will also lead a responsible drinking programme, which is “at the heart of the brand”.

The advert, although it has made its way around the internet, will launch on television on Friday night.
