Newcastle United host Nigel Pearson's Leicester City this weekend in a fixture that is surely a must-win game for Toon boss Alan Pardew.
The Magpies' slow start has put Pardew under major pressure and fans haven't been shy to express their feelings towards him and owner Mike Ashley. The Foxes will see this as the perfect opportunity to claim all three points and continue their fine start to life in the Premier League.
Newcastle seeking maiden win
Newcastle have not won a league game this season, Papiss Cisse's goalscoring form has saw them pick up points against Swansea City on the road and a last-gasp point against Crystal Palace and Steve Bruce's Hull City.
Leicester on the other hand have enjoyed a steady start to the new campaign picking up wins against Stoke City and Louis Van Gaal's Manchester United. In-form striker Leonardo Ulloa will be looking to continue his fine form in front of goal and will be looking to pile more misery on the north-east club.
Centre-back Mike Williamson revealed to Sky Sports that Alan Pardew fully has the backing off his team.
“He’s a fantastic manager," the defender commented. "He’s got a wealth of experience at every level and he’s the focal point of the club so he is going to come in for criticism at a big club with the expectations we have.”
The ex-Portsmouth player also stated that the fans have every reason to express their disappointment to the clubs sluggish start.
"People are entitled to their opinion because they come along and support the team,” he added. “Sometimes it can be a bit fierce, but that’s the industry we are in, and we’re just trying to communicate that we’re trying all we can to get that win."
Tim Krul is expected to start against the Midlands side after suffering an elbow scare and both teams have no other injury concerns. This fixture has come at the perfect time for Nigel Pearson and his Leicester City side and they will be the team with smiles on their faces come 4:45 on Saturday.
Newcastle 1-2 Leicester
