The Saint Louis Rams have jumped to the top of the leader board of NFL franchises most likely to be set for a relocation to Los Angeles.
According to reports from Pro Football Talk, out of all the so-called struggling teams in the National Football League, it is the Rams who are the likely favorites to move to Los Angeles if there is to be a relocation of a franchise in the next few seasons.
Charge for Change
"Of the three teams viewed as the most likely to move — the Rams, Raiders, and Chargers — the team viewed by the NFL as most likely to make the move is the Rams."
Many have felt the San Diego Charges, given their rather close proximity to the Los Angeles area would be the ideal franchise to move. However the year-to-year lease the Rams currently have with Edward Jones Dome could be a reason as to why St. Louis is the favorite.
The Rams franchise moved to St. Louis after the 1994 season and have achieved solid success with two Super Bowl appearances in that time, winning one of them. Before relocating to St. Louis the Rams had played in L.A. since 1946 and would obviously be welcomed back if they were eventually relocated.
If the St. Louis Rams - or another franchise - are to play in Los Angeles it’s possible their new stadium would be located near Hollywood Park though that’s just speculation at this point in time.
