Scintilla Cricket Club shine on Awards night

Scintilla Cricket Club have been presented with the Essex County Cricket League Premier Division Trophy.

Senior team members combined to acknowledge their combined success. All teams were invited by the league organisers for dinner and the presentation ceremony.

Club captain Ahmed Choudhury said: "The last few months have been a whirlwind. We are not complacent and we will prepare fully for next years campaign. As champions it is now up to us to build a legacy."

Wicket keeper and player's secretary Bellal Hossain said: "What has stood out for Scintilla has been our unity. This has been our strength. We have leaders from the top to the bottom and once we clicked, the momentum took us on a winning run through to the championship."

Club chairman Muhammad Rahman said: "I want to thank the starting eleven for their dogged determination throughout the campaign. The spirit was amazing and we will use this triumph to inspire our younger players as well as a stepping stone for future success."
