The WWE and Team 3D - formerly known as The Dudley Boyz - are apparently in talks to make a comeback to the company in a bid to boost the ailing tag team division.

When it was announced a few weeks ago that the contracts of Team 3D had run out with TNA, everyone jumped at the notion that they could return to WWE, the place that garnered them some real fame. Now it seems that there might be a little weight in a potential move.

WWE Return

According to a report from WrestleZone, there is interest between both sides about a return, and the duo of Bubba Ray and Devon are expected to seriously explore their options here.

While Bully Ray did imply a run in Japan during an edited promo directed towards New Japan’s Bullet Club at TNA’s Bound For Glory pay-per-view, the general belief is that they will try and return to WWE since there appears to be a strong interest in the team.

Team 3D could still go to Japan and work a few dates there, then make their return after those dates are completed.

WWE Tag Teams

With the current state of the tag team division in WWE, this wouldn’t be a bad move at all. These two have done a fine job of putting over tag teams in TNA and they can carry that over to the young talent in WWE as well.

The Dudley Boyz, assuming they move back to their old team name that they used in the WWE, will have the likes of Goldust and Stardust, The Usos, RybAxel, and eventually The Ascension from NXT to compete against on their return.
