Mauricio Pochettino is set to ring the changes ahead of Tottenham's Group C home clash with Greek side Asteras Tripolis on Thursday evening.

The Argentine head coach has played largely second string sides in the cup competitions and despite the North London side sitting third in the group the likes of Andros Townsend, Paulinho, Vlad Chiriches and Harry Kane will be drafted in.

Despite losing 4-1 to Manchester City on Saturday, Tottenham performed relatively well and recent signs have indicated that Pochettino's methods are starting to filter through to some of the players. However, in the cups the Lilywhites have performed poorly, needing Ryan Mason's introduction from the bench to spark a recovery against Nottingham Forest in the Capital Cup and drawing both games in Group C.

Asteras Tripolis have never played Tottenham before but sit top of the group and will provide a stern test for the home side.

Hugo Lloris may be given a rare night off, with Michel Vorm coming in between the sticks, while Vlad Chiriches and Jan Vertonghen will come in for Federico Fazio and Younes Kaboul. Ben Davies will replace Danny Rose at left back, but injuries at right back to Kyle Walker and Kyle Naughton mean Pochettino can only chose from Eric Dier or untested youngster Kyle Walker-Peters.

In midfield, the ex-Southampton boss will draft in Mousa Dembele and one of Nabil Bentaleb or summer recruit Benjamin Stambouli, while Harry Kane will play behind recalled Emmanuel Adbayor, with Andros Townsend and Paulinho keeping Aaron Lennon out in the cold.

Predicted line-up:

Subs: Friedel, Fazio, Walker-Peters, Bentaleb, Lennon, Chadli, Soldado
