Bethe Correia and Miesha Tate have upped their war of words as both aim to push themselves towards a title shot.

Correia laid out the challenge to Tate via Twitter, saying "Don't be scared Honey!" and it comes off the back of Tate saying that she wants to just stand and throw punches with Correia.

The two are at the top of their divisions and while it will be the 'Alpha Cat', Cat Zingano's turn to get a shot at Rousey - this could be another title deciding fight.

'Cupcake' aims to take down another undefeated contender

Tate will be coming into the fight on the back off a win over Rin Nakai, another undefeated contender who was aiming to make shockwaves in the division. Correia herself has already caused some waves with her call out of the 'Four Horsewomen of MMA' aka Rousey's stable of training partners.

She's seen off 'Horsewomen members', Jessamyn Duke and Shayna Baszler but neither are top quality opponents who give Correia the credence to have earned a title shot. And with the third 'Horsewoman', Marina Shafir in another division, that's where Tate comes into play.

Tate is a former title contender, a top five ranked fighter in the UFC and one of the best in the MMA world today - so a win over her counts for something. Just ask Zingano, who earned her initial title shot with a win over her.

Tate sees Fight of the Night potential in it

"I really want to fight Bethe Correia. She's doing really well and she's not afraid to engage in a fight. She's undefeated and she has an exciting style of fighting. My last two opponents that I beat just wanted to grab a hold of me and take me to the ground. They did not want to throw punches with me at all. It's not as fun for me." Tate told AskMen magazine.

"I like people that want to stand up and fight. I feel like Correia is well rounded and we could win fight of the night. It's hard to win fight of the night when one of the two people in the ring just want to hold on to you or lay on you. I want to fight someone that isn't afraid to stand up with me. Let's give the fans what they want to see and throw punches until someone goes down."

Correia answered that today saying: "I'm different! Sumtimes I like 2devour my dessert b4 another horsemeat dinner!Stand toe2toe w/ me Cupcake @MieshaTate Don't be scared Honey!"

Her sights are clearly set on Rousey and taking the title from her and she's got the WWE-esque storyline to interest fans lined up with her talking - all she needs now is walk the walk just once more.
