Manchester Untied and Liverpool target Martin Odegaard has been told to snub interest from the Premier League and Real Madrid, because he will never get the opportunity to play, whereas joining Ajax will get him valuable first team experience.
This is according to the Eredivisie club's boss, Frank de Boer, who is very keen on the 15-year-old who has been generating something of a frenzy among European football fans. Scouts out of Old Trafford and Anfield have both reportedly told their respective clubs to snap up the youngster.
However, it now looks as though Louis van Gaal and Brendan Rodgers, as well as Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid, will face an uphill task in trying to convince Odegaard that their respective clubs are the ideal places for him to continue with his development.
De Boer has been quoted talking about his enthusiasm by Norwegian outlet VG, who report that Ajax are in a favourable position when it comes to where Odegaard will decide to make the next step in his career. Currently playing for Stromsgodset, he is expected to sign a deal with one of his numerous suitors once he turns 16 on December 17.
If he chooses somewhere else, like England, he will not get many opportunities. With us he will have a chance in the first team
It is clear where De Boer thinks he should be playing for the next few years, insisting that going to either Manchester United, Liverpool or Real Madrid would be a bad move. He believes it would be a waste of talent and first team opportunities would be rare.

Sage advice or the big sell?
"If he should choose, he should choose Ajax. Here at Ajax, a player like him will get the chance," said the former Netherlands, Barcelona and Ajax star.
"If he chooses somewhere else, like England, he will not get many opportunities. With us he will have a chance in the first team. In Madrid they don’t wait for a boy like him. There he might be sent on loan and it will take a long time before he eventually gets a chance."
Although De Boer insisted that Ajax would be the best place for the young playmaker to hone his skills, he was realistic about what would happen once Odegaard made it into his late teens. Ajax struggle to hang on to their best players when Europe's biggest club, like Manchester United, Liverpool and Real Madrid, come calling.
Maybe he is ready for bigger tasks already at like 20 to 21 years old
If anything, he was talking up Ajax as some kind of finishing school for the young Norwegian. Although the hefty transfer fee they would get from selling him on would probably have something to do with it.
"If I were him I would choose Ajax because of the good academy and he can take the next step from here. Maybe he is ready for bigger tasks already like 20 to 21 years old."
