Suarez on Carroll

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has revealed that former teammate Andy Carroll never got going for Liverpool because he didn’t fit the system.

Whilst praising the West Ham forward’s power and technical ability, Suarez claimed Carroll, who cost £35m, wasn’t suited to the club’s style of play.


Boxing mega-fight

Manny Pacquiao has given boxing fans the words they desperately want to hear, by admitting he could fight Floyd Mayweather next year.

The Filipino multi-division champion said he hoped the highly-anticipated bout could be made, but is currently focused on his upcoming clash with Chris Algieri.

The Serb sits top of the world rankings ahead of Roger Federer, but has been forced to return quickly to stop his Swiss rival overtaking him.

Vettel punishment

Lastly we turn to Formula 1, where Sebastian Vettel’s engine penalty looks set to commence this weekend in Texas. The Red Bull driver faces sitting out of qualification on Saturday, meaning he will start from the pitlane in the US Grand Prix virtue of the fact he has used up his allocation of five power units.
