If Manchester City wanted to replace the often thoughtful and pragmatic Pellegrini with a more charismatic manager then Jurgen Klopp is the man for the job.
The Borussia Dortmund boss has become one of the most loveable managers in world football due to his excitable touchline manner and all-round enthusiasm, but more than that, he's proven himself to be a good coach at the same time.
At Dortmund he's taken a side built largely on talented youngsters to back-to-back Bundesliga titles and a Champions League final while operating on a much smaller budget than many of his rivals.
However, he may have taken the German outfit as far as he can, and recent form has been poor, with five defeats and a draw in their last six league outings.
A fresh start could be the perfect tonic for Klopp, and there's not a football fan in England who wouldn't like to see him brighten up the Premier League.
