Kobe Bryant is a very hard man to please. You can just ask his LA Lakers teammates how intense he is.

So when the Lakers faced the Golden State Warriors, losing handsomely 127-104, Bryant came away saying that he was incredibly impressed by Klay Thompson. That doesn't happen often.

But in a turn of events, it wasn't the fact that Thompson shot 41 points against Bryant, that impressed the Black Mamba. Rather, the 24-year old Thompson earned Kobe's respect in the most Kobe way possible, by being in the weights room late after the game.

Hard Work

Bryant, who is known for his tireless work ethic and effort, recounted a story last season when late in the night after a game against the Warriors. Bryant says he decided to hit the weight room. Given the time of night, there was nobody else in the room – or so Kobe thought. That’s when he saw Thompson grinding, a man after Kobe's own heart if there ever was.

Klay Goes Off

Thompson was incredible against the Lakers on Saturday night. The former Washington State star dropped 41 points on the Lakers non-existent defense. He reached that mark in just 18 shots, missing only three attempts all game.

Thompson was an amazing 5-of-7 from three point range and 9-of-10 in the paint, while getting to the free throw line nine times.
