Forbes business magazine have released their 2014 list of the world's highest paid athletes, which includes a total of 15 footballers featuring among the top 100 wealthiest sports stars on the planet.

The lowest ranked of those is former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, who takes his place in 100th spot after earning a mouthwatering $17.3 million in salary and endorsements. Of course, the Uruguay international made a high-profile summer transfer from Anfield to Barcelona, which could be partly responsible for his climb onto the shortlist.

Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery is ahead of Suarez in 92nd spot after pocketing $18.3 million at the Allianz Arena. Arsenal forward Mesut Ozil is marginally in front of the Frenchman on $18.5 million and claims 89th spot, while Steven Gerrard ($18.7m) and Robin van Persie ($19.5m) are the other footballers that make the list in 86th and 81st spot respectively.

After revealing five of the featured football stars from 15-11, GiveMeSport has decided to profile each of the remaining ten highest earning players in a bit more detail. But first, a couple more clues.

With four players from the Premier League and four from La Liga, the top ten also includes one surprise star from France's top-flight and one other from Italy's Serie 'A'. Can you guess who they are yet?
