Tottenham edged closer to the Europa League knock out stages thanks to goals from Andros Townsend and Harry Kane to see off Asteras Tripolis 2-1.
A late red card for Federico Fazio earned Asteras a penalty from which Jeronimo Barrales scored to make it a tense final few minutes.
Mauricio Pochettino's side dominated possession in the first half but could not create opportunities until Andros Townsend was brought down in the penalty box. The England winger scored from the spot, then six minutes later crossed for Harry Kane to head in from six yards.
The home side offered very little but came out a different side in the second half and created four great opportunities in the first ten minutes after the break but failed to test Michel Vorm, in the Spurs goal for the suspended Hugo Lloris.
Pochettino's defence was all at sea but seemed to have weathered the storm until Federico Fazio was caught high up the pitch, not for the first time, and brought down sub Barrales as the game ticked into injury time.
