After an outstanding World Cup, many Arsenal fans were itching to see Costa Rica youngster Joel Campbell run riot in the Premier League.

The burgeoning forward even managed to grab a fantastic goal in the Emirates Cup, furthering excitement amongst the Arsenal faithful.

His high expectation however, has yet to be lived up to. It is vital to point out that Campbell's disappointing start to the season has been through no fault of his own. He has been left out of Arsenal's squad on numerous occasions this season, and during the Gunners' 2-1 defeat to Swansea, French forward Yaya Sanogo was preferred in the latter stages of that game.

Many Arsenal, and indeed neutral, fans are very underwhelmed with Arsene Wenger's tactical management this season. So many disappointing results have created a huge rift between even the most hardcore of the club's fans.

With the poor form they're on, although defensively they are far from complete, many would look to a flair player like Campbell to change the tide in a game.
