Football News

You have likely seen plenty of these types of videos that claim to be the greatest of a certain type of football play, but this has to surely go down as the best ever punt return.

Punt returners are certainly an enigmatic bunch. It is the nature of the job. Most of the time they do absolutely nothing or pretty much nothing, but then, on the very odd occasion, they become absolute superstars with a piece of magic.

This can be said for punt returners from high school right the way through to the pros, but when it's their time to shine, amazing punt returns can become the most incredible pieces of play all season, let alone just in the game they took place in.

Making a name for himself

Darreon Jackson was the man to step up with this incredible punt return touchdown in the video BELOW in what has to be the most audacious piece of play you will ever see.

Jackson plays for Derby High School and he certainly put himself on the map with this punt return against Wichita East High School.

Incredible skills

Things got pretty bad for Wichita East from the get go. A terrible snap almost forced a fumble from the punter, but thankfully for the football loving public, the punter got his kick off before the amazing return took place.

Jackson picked up the ball on his 14-yard line before failing to fool his opponents with his first move. Stuck in a terrible situation, Jackson managed to pull of several sublime jukes, spins and cuts to evade up to nine defenders on his way to a brilliant TD, before he then collapsed in the endzone.

No word yet on whether or not Jackson awoke from his endzone collapse, in the meantime, enjoy the mental play on the video above.
