Switzerland international Xherdan Shaqiri is desperate to leave Bayern Munich in the January transfer window.
As reported by the Express, it's been suggested that Premier League duo Manchester United and Liverpool made a move for Shaqiri in this past summer's transfer window, with the player now ready to plead with Bayern Munich for a move in the winter market.
He wants out
Shaqiri has endured a frustrating time in the Bundesliga of late, as he's found himself behind the likes of Arjen Robben, Mario Goetze, Franck Ribery and Co. in pecking order under Pep Guardiola.
The winger has admitted that he wanted to depart the club in the last transfer window, but the German giants stopped him from leaving.
Shaqiri told reporters: "I want to play more. I wanted to go during the summer, but Bayern made their decision and I had to accept it.

"I thought that after the World Cup it would have been better for me to try something new. I thought I was moving and there were several offers for me, but Bayern decided I had to stay and I couldn't do anything else.
"Everyone knows I want to play more. I want to talk to Bayern. I feel that I will never be a starter, even if I assist in every game."
Van Gaal to make another move?
Manchester United fans will certainly be hoping that manager Louis van Gaal makes another move for the player's services in the upcoming January transfer window. The Red Devils have struggled in the early stages of the season, despite having an array of attacking talent at the club.
The Old Trafford outfit have the likes of Angel di Maria, Adnan Januzaj, Juan Mata and Co. at their disposal, but they're still struggling for creativity out wide, and Shaqiri would only improve their options.
Of course, Manchester United will have to offer a substantial fee to the German champions in order to persuade them to sell the highly rated Swiss star, but it's a deal that could yet go through in the January transfer window.
Arsenal showdown
The Red Devils' immediate attention, however, will turn to their next Premier League clash as they travel to north London to take on rivals Arsenal on November 22. Van Gaal's side will be desperate to make it back-to-back wins as they go in search of climbing the league table over the coming weeks and months.
