Manchester United winger Angel di Maria has insisted that he doesn't know how much longer Cristiano Ronaldo will be a Real Madrid player, reports the Daily Star.

Ronaldo is regarded by many as the world's best player, but his long term future has been the subject of much debate in recent time, and Di Maria, who starred alongside the Portuguese superstar last season, has hinted that his former teammate could be on the move in the near future.

Di Maria, of course, left the Bernabeu in favour of a move to Manchester United this past summer, whilst Ronaldo departed the Theatre of Dreams for Madrid in 2009.

Manchester United Return?

Ronaldo has, however, been linked with a move back to the Premier League outfit, and Di Maria's comments about the World Player of the Year will only excite fans of the Red Devils.

The Argentine ace told reporters: "I don’t know how long will he stay in Real Madrid.”

It remains to be seen as to whether Manchester United will step up their interest in the attacking ace anytime soon. After breaking the British transfer record to sign Di Maria, Louis van Gaal and Co. may have to do something similar once again in order to land Ronaldo.

The Real Madrid man is regarded a legend by the Manchester United faithful after the wonderful six years of service he gave the club. And, despite the club already possessing an array of attacking talent, the majority of fans would take him back in a heartbeat after his extraordinary performances for the La Liga giants.

Record breaker

Ronaldo continues to break records at the Bernabeu, and has already netted 18 goals in his opening 11 league games. In fact, his record throughout his stint in Spain is remarkable as he's struck 275 goals in 263 games.

Di Maria, on the other hand, has enjoyed a strong start to his Old Trafford career, despite the clubs inconsistent start to the season. The Argentine ace has been integral to the side's attack in the early stages of the season, but will be hoping to improve even further over the coming weeks and months of the season.

The Manchester United star will be targeting success in the club's next fixture as they travel to north London to take on Premier League rivals Arsenal at the Emirates on November 22.
