After failing to fulfil his postgame media obligations in the aftermath of the Seattle Seahawks' Week 11 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, Marshawn Lynch was handed a whopping $100,000 fine by the NFL in a bid to deter him from dodging such commitments in the future.

So when the media gathered in Seattle's CenturyLink Field locker room yesterday to see Lynch sitting in his spot they must have been hoping the Seahawks star was willing to give his thoughts on the franchise's Week 12 win over the Arizona Cardinals.

Lynch's response to the reporters' barrage of questions - a video of which can be seen at the bottom of this article - was hardly that of a man delighted to be back in front of the microphone.

The man who likes to do his talking on the gridiron went about answering almost every question with a simple one word answer..."Yeah."

No matter what the subject, whether it was the Seahawks' offensive line, his celebration with cheerleaders or the upcoming Thanksgiving game against the San Francisco 49ers, Marshawn Lynch made it pretty clear he wasn't going to be expanding much beyond mono-syllabic grunts.

Silent treatment

Lynch's desire to avoid the media spotlight, and his lack of enthusiasm for interviews and press conference has of course never been a secret - with the player running the risk of being fined for opting out of such requirements on a fairly regular basis over the past couple of seasons.

His blunt response this weekend then is hardly surprising but it seems fairly unlikely the NFL could punish him yet again because he did, technically, complete his postgame obligations.
