Even though we are heading towards the end of 2014, WrestleMania 31 will be upon us quicker than we know and some big matches are being rumored to take place at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

The rumored matches – if they come to fruition – could see the likes of Brock Lesnar, Sting and The Rock all be involved in some big matches. The post-Survivor Series episode of the 'Bryan and Vinny show' which is available on F4WOnline.com mentioned three specific ‘big’ matches that WWE have planned for WrestleMania 31.

The co-host of the show, Bryan Alvarez, noted that Brock Lesnar could finish up with the WWE after his WrestleMania 31 bout but even though his contract situation is unknown he is rumored to be edging closer to a UFC return. Regardless, Brock Lesnar is expected to retain his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against John Cena at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view and head into WrestleMania as the champion.

But this is the match which has been in the rumour mill for months on end. There will always be the big debate surrounding Reigns and whether he is ready to carry the WWE in around five months. With the jury still out on Reigns the WWE are confident that Reigns is the man to carry the company into the future as he is expected to defeat Brock Lesnar.

However, there is no guarantee that Roman Reigns will leave California with the gold. As the man with the gold briefcase could create history if Seth Rollins decides it’s the right time to cash in.

This all depends on whether The Undertaker is able to return and compete. If he is then Sting vs. The Undertaker should go ahead but if he doesn’t then Sting vs. Triple H isn’t a bad plan B. The events that unfolded at the closing stages of Survivor Series this past Sunday planted the seeds for the two legends to meet, and WrestleMania 31 could be the stage this match goes ahead at.

As we speculated a number of weeks ago, Sting is set to play the role of the General Manager which obviously won’t sit well with Triple H and this could lead to a stipulation where a win for Triple H could bring him back into power.

If this is Sting’s one and only match in the WWE before calling it a career, should he go out on a loss?

The most obscure big match out of three which could take place is The Rock returning to take on Rusev. The two have already met inside the ring where The Rock took out the current United States Champion and the WWE could use that as a platform to go forward with this potential match.

This probably isn’t the ideal match for The Rock. Fans expected a blockbuster name such as Brock Lesnar or even Triple H or Randy Orton, but the WWE want to continue building Rusev up as a massive heel, possibly the biggest heel in the company and even though these matches are only being speculated right now, this would be a great moment for Rusev where even a great performance would be enough for him to stay strong.

There’s no guarantee these matches might go ahead, for example with The Rock and his hectic Hollywood schedule there’s a chance he might not even be there. This could result in Rusev still getting a popular opponent in the form of John Cena.

Bad News Barrett has been tipped to have a big WrestleMania match but some could consider him a favourite to win the second Andre the Giant memorial battle royal whilst Hulk Hogan has been vocal about wanting to compete in one final match.

Triple H and John Cena could even meet if the WWE go ahead with the storyline of the fact that only John Cena can bring The Authority back into power, but Batista will also be looking for one final match and has picked out Triple H as an opponent.

Bray Wyatt, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Randy Orton will all be looking to compete in big matches on the night as well, with Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton destined to clash.
More will be made clear in the coming months but it is certainly an exciting time to be a WWE fan with so many great options to create an incredible WrestleMania event.
