Sergio Aguero kickstarted Manchester City's season with Champions League hattrick

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero hopes last night's 3-2 victory over Bayern Munich in the Champions League can help kick-start their season. The Argentine star netted an impressive hat-trick to strengthen City's chances of progressing to the knockout phase of the competition, and now he wants his match-winning performance to inspire Manuel Pellegrini's side in their quest to close the eight-point gap between themselves and Chelsea in the Premier League. Cricket now, and Australia batsman Phillip Hughes remains in a critical condition following surgery in a Sydney hospital after he was struck on the back of the head by a bouncer during a Sheffield Shield match earlier this week. And finally to Boxing where Callum Smith and George Groves could be in line for a big domestic super-middleweight showdown next year at Anfield, after the former's trainer Joe Gallagher said that's the fight everyone really wants.
