Tyson Fury has revealed that he is pen pals with Britain’s most notorious prisoner Charles Bronson.

Fury has stated that he is in contact with Bronson and the heavyweight boxer claims that he has written to him on multiple occasions and is planning on going to visit the prisoner.

Bronson, who has spent the past 40 years in jail for violent crimes is the inspiration for Fury’s beard and has labeled their letters as “one crazy man to another.”

Fury told The Sun: “I have written to him a couple of times and he has written back to me. It was general stuff between us, you could say it is one crazy man to another. I’m really busy at the moment, but I would like to meet him when I get the time.”

The 26-year old faces his long-time rival Dereck Chisora this weekend at the ExCel Arena in London, the man who he beat over three years ago.

Fury is not worried about shaving his beard

The unbeaten heavyweight star has also revealed that Bronson was his inspiration for his beard after seeing pictures of the inmate’s trademark facial hair. But due to the British Boxing Board of Control, Fury may have to have a shave before the fight with Chisora, because of a rule that states that a boxer’s chin must be visible when fighting, but he has no qualms about using a razor.

“I was originally inspired by the beard that Charles Bronson grew. If Chisora’s camp want me to shave it off because of some rule, then fine, I will take it off, no problem. If they want me to shave down below, I’ll do that as well or maybe they want me to have a waxing... I’ll do that for them too.”
