WWE set to retain anonymous General Manager position

The original plan for Monday Night Raw was to have a segment between John Cena and Vince McMahon that would have led to there being no authority figure on Raw for a while.

This was instead scrapped. There is no word on why since both Vince and John were present for the tapings, but instead Daniel Bryan was brought back onto TV early and was then given the reins of Raw for the night.

This seems to be the idea WWE are going to go with for the foreseeable future with the anonymous Raw General Manager being a laptop and Michael Cole quoting the emails.

Mixed reviews

Instead there will be celebrity guest hosts every week as either former wrestlers or local celebrities as WWE prepares for the road to WrestleMania.

The ending to Raw this week when the Anonymous General Manager was revealed was shot down by many WWE fans as many saw it as a step backwards for the company after Edge destroyed the laptop back in 2010 and the storyline was finally ended.

Daniel Bryan hosts

If WWE had no serious replacement for The Authority then why did they put the stipulation on the match and allow them to leave? Why didn't they continue until TLC and allow The Authority to leave before the "Road to WrestleMania" began?

Daniel Bryan coming back was a better stroke of genius for WWE because the WWE Universe were able to get behind the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion in the hope this would be the start of Bryan's road back to WWE.

WWE going backwards

Whether the guest host for the next few weeks gains the same reaction is still yet to be determined, but WWE can't keep booking faces to run Raw otherwise the wrestlers related to The Authority will be completely buried, and for talents like Seth Rollins and Rusev to be buried so early in their careers would be catastrophic, especially with Seth still holding the case and Rusev with his undefeated streak.

The thought was that someone like Sting would take over from The Authority so that there could be a new era in WWE, instead it feels like WWE have stepped back a few years with the anonymous general manager. Just when the WWE's ratings were at an all=time high, WWE have made a big mistake!
