Manchester United duo Paul Scholes and Phil Neville made the trip to Spain to watch Barcelona’s 1-0 victory over Valencia on Sunday night.

The pair saw Sergio Busquets score an injury-time winner, and speculation suggests their trip to Spain could be linked with a David Moyes reunion at Real Sociedad. The Scot enjoyed his first win with the club at the weekend.

Carrick's aim

Elsewhere at Old Trafford, and Michael Carrick believes it’s time for the side to push on after Saturday’s comprehensive 3-0 win over Hull City. Chris Smalling, Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie all found the net.

The England midfielder was delighted with the Red Devils' latest performance, and hopes to push on ahead of the busy festive period - starting against Stoke City at home on Tuesday night.

Mata's hope

And finally, Juan Mata has called for football to unite fans rather than create divisions after news of a supporter's death prior to a game between Atletico Madrid and Deportivo in La Liga.

The Spaniard believes education and common sense should prevail, and that hooliganism has no place in football.
