It was a big night in the NBA with several shocks and story lines off the court coming to a head in one epic night.

The most anticipated match of the night arguably came from Toronto where the Raptors welcomed the Cleveland Cavaliers.

LeBron James was on top form for the Cavaliers as they never really lost control of the match and came away with the big win.

LeBron scored 24 points on the night and led the Cavaliers in scoring with team-mates Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving both scoring 15 points in their 105-91 win.

Tristan Thompson also impressed for Cleveland scoring 21 points on his return to his native country of Canada.

Cleveland were in control from the start and even though it looked like Toronto were going to make it back, a 19-6 run for Cleveland to end the third quarter ended the hopes of a home victory.

Raptors Point Guard Kyle Lowry had another impressive night scoring 22 points in the game but was outscored by team-mate Amir Johnson who scored 27.

The Raptors who top the Eastern Conference had come back from a trip to the west coast and it showed as they were out shined by a far superior Cavaliers team.

San Antonio come away with it

The big match from the Western Conference pitted had the Memphis Grizzlies host the San Antonio Spurs.

Both teams are in seeded positions but it was the NBA Champions who came away with the very close 107-101 victory.

Grizzlies Center Marc Gasol scored the most in the game with 23 points and Tayshaun Prince added 20 from the bench but it was n't enough.

The Spurs had five players reach double digits including Manu Ginobili who scored 17 points from the bench.

Boston gets the last laugh

After all the speculation about LA Lakers star Kobe Bryant trying to lure Rajon Rondo away from the Boston Celtics, their game was very hyped up.

The Celtics got the 113-96 with Boston center Tyler Zeller impressing on the night with 24 points and 14 rebounds.

Rondo himself came away with 14 points and 16 assists whilst Bryant continued his recent good run scoring 22 points.
