It's time to announce another sporting highlight from 2014 as we countdown to the number 1 moment being announced on New Year's Eve. Coming in at number 25 it Chelsea’s 6-0 thrashing over their London rivals Arsenal.

In a match that Arsenal’s legendary manager Arsene Wenger take charge of his side for the 1000th time, it turned out to be an occasion the Frenchman will never forget in his life.

At the time, a top of the table Chelsea side fired home six goals, yes SIX against their fellow highflying opponents.

The Blues well and truly cashed in, in ruthless fashion with goals from Eto’o, Schurrle, Hazard, Mohamed Salah and a brace from Oscar.

Arsenal were reduced to 10 men in the first-half following Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's goal preventing handball, but it was a case of mistaken identity as Kieran Gibbs was instead given his marching orders by referee Andre Marriner.

It was the first time that the Stamford Bridge faithful have seen their side score six goals past the Gunners.

It was also a special day for the Special One as he recorded his biggest ever Premier League victory as Chelsea manager.

Chelsea ended the season in third place after putting all their focus on the Champions League in the latter half of the season but the campaign ended in defeat to Atletico Madrid in the semi finals of the competition.

Arsenal on the other hand, finished the season in fourth place, a feat they have achieved seven times.
