Victor Valdes has more than one reason to complete a deal with Manchester United, according to Marca.

It's been revealed that the Spanish shot-stopper, who is currently training with the Red Devils as he steps up his fitness, will receive a major financial boost by joining the Old Trafford outfit.

Monaco dispute

In fact, it appears that the 32-year-old will receive a pay off from French moneybags Monaco as he's involved in a dispute with the club after previously signing a pre-contract with the side.

It appears, then, that he will be handed a financial settlement with the club as a move to Manchester United draws ever closer.

Of course, the main reason Valdes wants to sign a deal with Louis van Gaal's side is to get his career back on track. After undergoing surgery on his knee way back in March, the Spaniard ran out of contract at Barcelona at the end of last season and will now be hoping to get back on the field of play in 2015.

De Gea challenge

It certainly won't be easy for him to gain a starting role under the Manchester United boss, however, with his fellow Spaniard David de Gea in inspired form for the club.

Ultimately De Gea has just been handed the club's Player of the Month award for the second month running, so Valdes will have to prove his credentials in training over the coming weeks and months.
