Chelsea v Sporting Lisbon: Player Ratings

Chelsea fought their way to a 3-1 victory over Sporting Lisbon this evening as they finished their Champions League campaign with a flourish.

The Blues were quick out of the gate and got the first goal of the match thanks to a Cesc Fabregas spot kick, which was awarded after full-back Felipe Luis was bought down in the box.

Andre Schurrle doubled Chelsea's lead with a fine low curling effort from just outside the area. Sporting fought back but John Obi-Mikel sealed the deal just before the hour mark.

So Chelsea are safely through to the next round - but how did Jose Mourinho's much-changed side get on? Check out our player ratings below.

Cech - 6.5: The Czech goalkeeper would have loved to have been busier to really showcase his skills but it was a quiet night all round, except for when he had to pick the ball out of the net.

Azpilicueta 6: Back in his usual position, Azpilicueta was as solid as ever. He'll be getting back to business at the weekend.

Zouma 6: The young defender is an absolute best and has the potential to grow into a seriously good defender. Nights like this will do him the world of good.

Cahill 6: Another solid night for the defender, and pulled off one very well timed block indeed. Also got a touch on the third goal.

Filipe Luis - 7: Had license to roam and did just that to win the penalty early on. Did well and combined well, but has some way to go before replacing Cesar Azpilicueta.

Mikel - 7: Mikel is nothing more than a squad player these days but showed he can come in and do a job for Chelsea when asked to. Bagged a goal, which are as rare as unicorns in his case.

Matic: The big Serbian's fine season continues. This wasn't his most difficult game of the season but he did what he does best - broke up play and rampaged around the pitch.

Schurrle 8: Took his goal very well indeed and kept on bursting through on a regular basis. A few more games like this and he could be a first team regular.

Fabregas 7: Looked as strong as ever. Controlled the game from midfield and dispatched his penalty well. Chelsea couldn't ask for much more from their star man.

Salah - 6: Didn't play badly but could have done so much more. Had a few scoring chances which he should have taken, while a few crosses were wayward too. Rusty.

Diego Costa - 6.5: He didn't have too many clear cut chances, but looked lively throughout. The spark is still there, despite a few injury niggles.
